Compost in Montevideo

in WeedCash Network6 months ago

I was recently able to resume my volunteering in @redalcouy, after a year outside of Montevideo. Walking one day along Calle Joaquín Requena, I managed to observe a small garden without any type of restriction on its access, I said to myself: "These people are detached.

This fact alone began to greatly change my daily life in the city. The place in question is the Lyceum 26 "Liber Falco" in the Jacinto Vera neighborhood, which, at the initiative of the residents and users of the high school spaces, have been organizing to undertake pedagogical and didactic work for the community.

I consider that the mere fact of being able to classify our organic waste and effectively contribute to the symbiosis of the earth to later be used in the production of a Community Garden, is a laudable and innovative work that has a re-positive impact on the exchange community and the dynamics of new habits that came to be core."

Some advantages of having a Community Compost are:
  • Access to organic land produced by neighbors for neighbors.
  • Decrease in the emission of bad odors in garbage containers
  • General training in the Classification of organic and inorganic waste.
  • Elaboration of by-products such as eco-bricks, biodetergents,
  • Powering of endogenous community development nuclei.
  • Contribution in public policies on Food Sovereignty and Environmental Equilibrium.
  • Conservation of green areas and expansion of landscaping.
  • Among many more benefits."

It is necessary to retake the spaces of public recreation and sports to strengthen the social ties that are gradually losing with the social self-absorption of the Cities on a planetary level. Being linked to a Community Composter is a symbol of questioning, learning, work and cooperation, values that our global society requires a little more every day.

We must learn from many worthy examples to follow, in the middle of 2021 there is dehumanized humanity, in need of connecting with itself and with the Planet.

A transversal objective that unites us around the globe is the fight for SOIL REGENERATION, especially in Latin America, where I consider it urgent to promote diversified food production with pertinent agroecological techniques in each region, and in this way strengthen a Local Economy Sustainable and dynamic.

This is where I shout: "Go back to the field, it is necessary ..."

I love composting! Its funny how excited I get when I have some banana peels to throw into the pile. Although I do it myself, but I think its cool to see this in the city. What a great way to come together as one, even if people have their different beliefs.

Thank you very much for your reply. It is certainly surprising to see it in cities but it is necessary for each and every one to compost their organic waste, in this way we can have land to grow our own plants. a hug and good vibes

Nice job, I think it would be great to see this happen in more and more city's.
